About the Role

Hopscotch Day Nurseries in Regents park settings are  both seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCo to champion inclusive practice and support children with additional needs across all age groups. This is a hands-on role combining direct child support, coaching, and strategic SEND leadership.

 Key Responsibilities

• Coach practitioners to deliver high-quality inclusive practice

• Collaborate with families and external agencies to meet children’s needs

• Lead and submit referrals and EHCP applications

• Deliver targeted interventions (e.g., phonics, physical development, talk boost, school readiness)

• Conduct audits and advise on SEN provision improvements

• Support the creation and implementation of IPPs, PECS, Welcomm, and other tools

• Guide room leaders and key persons through the OAP cycle

• Ensure timely completion of EHCPs, SEN funding applications, and referrals

Qualifications & Training

Required:

• Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare 

• Basic understanding of safeguarding

• Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills

• Willingness to undertake Level 2/3 SENCO and behaviour management training

• Strong IT skills

Desirable:

• Specific SEN training

• Knowledge of EYFS and OFSTED Inspection Framework (2021)

• Experience within Hopscotch Day Nurseries

• EAL training and First Aid Certificate

 What We’re Looking For

You’re someone with a natural affinity for children, a proactive mindset, and the ability to juggle a busy workload. You’re reliable, empathetic, and eager to grow your expertise in SEND.

Hours: 40 hours week (52 weeks a year)

Salary : £30,576.00 (pro rata based on 40hr week)

Regents Park staff receive an additional £0.30/hour location weighting (this is included in salary above; subject to terms)
